Sad day, just found out that Swanson Premium Whey Protein Powder is no longer on THM plan. Without warning, Swanson changed the ingredients to a concentrate/isolate mix instead of pure isolate.
Here is the official statement from Swanson:
“We apologize for any inconvenience and would be happy to explain. We have had a formulation change done to our Whey Protein Powder. The formulation now contains both a whey concentrate and a whey isolate.
While we still have stock left of the old formulation that was made up entirely of whey isolate, we have the new formulation in stock right now as well and are shipping out the new product from warehouses that have it available. We cannot tell which batch an order of this product will come from so we are unable to guarantee whether the new formulation or the old formulation will be sent on a particular order.”
If you have just ordered this protein powder and the first ingredient is concentrate and you want to return it, thankfully they have a great return policy. This is the information I received from Swanson regarding their return policy:
On the back of any Swanson Health Products invoice is a merchandise return label. Simply attach this label to the box and this will cover return shipping costs through the US Postal Service. In case you do not have a Swanson invoice, you may also create a return shipping label using the following link:
If you are unable to use this label, we will refund the return postage as well. Please address the package to Swanson Health Products, Box 2803, Fargo, ND 58102-9998. Once we receive the return, a refund will be issued to the original method of payment used. We ask that you please allow 2-4 weeks for us to receive and process returns.
Please be sure to include a brief note explaining the reason for your return and include your name, address and customer/order number to expedite your return.
This is definitely very upsetting and frustrating. I have expressed my thoughts to the company (asked them to bring back the pure isolate) as I know many others have as well. I encourage you to do the same if you feel so led. You can email them at email@example.com. We are the customers and you know how the saying goes, “the customer is always right!” 🙂
