Oriental “Meatballs” with Sweet Sauce

In a hurry and don’t want to form 100 meatballs? I call this my speedy meaty treat way of cooking. (I’ll be treating myself to more “relax” time later because I’ll only be in the kitchen ½ the time than normal with this fun and easy recipe. 😉 )

I’d say the presentation still gets a #10! Hey, it’s all going to the same place anyway right? Don’t be scared to think outside the box. Especially when it comes to saving time but making nutritious meals!!

Oriental “Meatballs” with Sweet Sauce:

9×13 Dish

2lb ground turkey
2 eggs
½ cup Honeyville Blanched Almond Flour
1 ½ tsp. ground ginger
A little less than ½ tsp. of salt
1 ½ tsp. garlic powder
For the Sauce:
½ tsp. sesame oil
6 TBS Rice Wine Vinegar, unseasoned and sugar free
6 TBS Coconut Aminos or Braggs Liquid Aminos
½ cup water
2 ½ TBS Sugar Substitute (I use 14 packets of Truvia)
1 tsp. Glucomannan

Optional:
Chopped Almonds and Cashews

Preheat oven to 350.

Mix all of the first 6 ingredients together then spread ground turkey mixture in a greased 9×13.

Bake for 30 minutes.

Meanwhile, place all ingredients except Glucomannon in a saucer and bring to a simmer.

While constantly whisking, add Glucomannon slowly. Make sure the sauce doesn’t over boil, just simmer. The sauce should thicken up.

When the meat is finished baking, you can drain a little of the excess grease if you want. It’s ground turkey so I’d say it’s pretty harmless.

Two ways to serve, either pour all the sauce on top of the 9×13, or cut individual squares and pour sauce over individual plates.

I love to steam broccoli and sweet onions with a little olive oil and a lot of garlic salt and place this under the meat/sauce. Then chop up some almonds and cashews for crunch!
