Jen’s Spaghetti Cabbage

One of my faaaaavvorite meals. I can’t even tell you just how much I love this! My comfort food. The cabbage is a perfect and healthy replacement for noodles. I love their consistency with the rich red meat sauce. I use ground turkey so for the THMers, this is a great S meal with the sharp shredded cheddar cheese.

½ to 1 head of cabbage
Shredded Cheddar Cheese

*Jen’s Red Meat Sauce*
1 Pound of Ground Turkey (don’t drain)
1 Sweet Onion, chopped
3 Cloves garlic, minced
2 (6oz) Cans Tomato Paste
1 Cup Water
(OR 1 can tomato paste, 1 15oz can tomato sauce and ½ cup water)
1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning
½ teaspoon Salt

1. In a large pan, combine ground turkey and onion; cook over medium heat until meat is browned.
2. Add rest of ingredients and simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
3. After sauce is almost done, chop up cabbage and put in a saucepan with about ¾ cup of water and steam for about 8 to 10 minutes. I like my cabbage slightly crunchy, so I don’t cook it very long. Just fyi, the longer you cook cabbage, it starts to smell a little funny. But don’t let that scare you! It’s worth it.
